Time is both flying by and going slow as crap right now. It’s another one of those weird days and it seems like checking out new music is the only thing that’s keeping me going so let’s go ahead and dig into another new one- “HOUSE INTO HOME” from My Cousin’s Girlfriend’s House. Although this isn’t brand new as it came out last month, it’s new to me so I feel like it will be new to some of your too.
The newest release from the Philadelphia-based trio, “HOUSE INTO HOME” instantly hits you with a wall of sound before the track settles into a pop-punk, alt-rock, emo blend that can only be describe as My Cousin’s Girlfriend’s House. There’s something super sunshiney and care free about this track that I couldn’t resist but there was also something heartfelt about every word. It has a bit of a Wonder Years vibe to it but with vocals that are a little bit less angsty and, again, a bit brighter. Even though this song follows a fairly standard composition, there were moments throughout the three minutes and forty-one second track where I was left wondering what the band would do next. There’s drama in here without making this a dramatic track and that’s yet another thing that makes “HOUSE INTO HOME” stand out.
