Happy Tuesday, everyone! I hope your day is off to a great start. Mine sure is and although I’m feeling the stress of the day already, I know I have some amazing music to help keep me going today starting with “Vicodin” from Give In.
Based in Los Angeles, CA, Give In is a pop-punk-perfect band. Don’t believe me? Just check out their song “Vicodin”. With a standard love and love-lost type story line but with an undeniable sense of angst behind it and an infectiously catchy chorus, this song is definitely next to perfect for me. There’s something super nostalgic about the chord progressions and vocal styling throughout this three and a half minute song but there’s also something refreshing about the ‘Give In twist’ that comes with the track. About half way through, the band adds something a bit heavier and more intense to this track that I wasn’t quite expecting but it works so well and makes this song a stand-out track that begs to be heard over and over and over again.
