My day job is pretty quiet today which is a blessing because I’m getting a million other things done. It feels good and I’m ready for another new track to help me keep up this motivation and energy.
There’s something perfectly rough around the edges about “Grow Up!” from All My Firsts. I know that sounds terrible and a bad way to introduce a song but this song comes with so much charm and I feel like that’s partially due to the DIY style that comes through loud and clear throughout this almost three-minute long song. Stylistically, this song reminds me of Mixtapes. If you missed out on that band then I truly feel sorry for you but, if you were a cool kid who still mourns the fact that Mixtapes is gone, I highly suggest checking out All My Firsts as they will fill that void that Mixtapes left on your heart. “Grow Up!” is sweet and bouncy but definitely has a sense of depth when it comes to the message of the song. Naturally, I’m not going to give that message up and, instead, just suggest you check out this bop of a track.
