Girl at the Rock Shows

I am the queen of overthinking so, naturally, any song that addresses compulsive overthinking will catch me. Listening to songs about it almost helps me calm down and realize that I am, in fact, overthinking things and need to calm down. Today is one of those days where I seem to be overthinking everything so I was beyond grateful that “Overthinking” from KingQueen came across my desk,

KingQueen is a Los Angeles-based pop-rock band with a sound that comes overflowing with energy. Don’t believe me? Just check out “Overthinking”. Even the way this song kicks off is full of power with screaming guitars that introduce the almost pop-punk inspired vocals. KingQueen’s overall sound has an almost vintage 90s alt-rock vibe to it but there’s something a bit more strong than that genre alone so I won’t put them solely into that box. My favorite part of this song in particular are the vocals. They come with grit and an edge to them but stay accessible and without leaning too heavy or anything like that. The vocals, just like the words and this band in general, are just so perfect while being so distinct. Add all of this to the fact that this song is about overthinking and you are left with a gem that will surely help you get out of your head if you’ve been lost there for a wee bit.
