Repeat offender alert! Deadwell is one of those bands where, after hearing just one song from them, I knew it was true love. As if their first single that I shared with you (“Story Of My Life”) wasn’t enough for you to fall in love with this Canadian band, I am back to share another track of theirs with you.
In true Deadwell fashion, “Humans Rise” spans a wide array of genres from 90s-alt-rock to a more standard pop-punk vibe. Although it definitely relates back to “Story of My Life”, I like the new sense of darkness that comes through in this song. Don’t get me wrong, this is a true bop with an infectious beat and vocals that will instantly captivate you but there’s just something a bit more tender and dark about this song that I found intriguing. I could tell from the first song I heard from Deadwell that this band can easily show a sense of depth and “Humans Rise” is proof of that. This song is also proof that, although a new band to the scene, Deadwell is a band to keep your eyes on.
