It’s yet another day where I couldn’t tell you where time is going but I’m getting a lot done so it feels good. At the same time, I’m getting frustrated that I haven’t had much time to share more new music with you so I figure now is as good of a time as any for a quick “new music break”!
This break is brought to you by the debut song from Deadwell- “Story Of My Life” but, really, this doesn’t sound like a debut song. There’s a tried and true style in this song that instantly had me hooked. It’s not quick pop-punk, it’s not quite 90s-alt but it has elements of those two things wrapped in a bow of creativity. There’s punchiness in this song and a chorus that is as infectious as it is good but, at the same time, I really couldn’t tell you who this song reminds me of. At the end of this three and a half minute adventure, you will surely be wracking your brain for comparisons while going for that repeat button because “Story of My Life” is a song that you have to listen to a few times to really really catch all of the magic and wonder. Bravo to Deadwell and I truly hope there is more to come from this Canadian band!
