I wish I had a quirky intro for you right now because “Yee-Haw” from messier absolutely deserves it but, honestly, I have nothing. It’s almost lunch, there’s a storm brewing outside, work hasn’t stopped sense I sat down but, all in all, it’s been a good day and this new song from messier is only enhancing it.
My favorite thing about this all-too-short one-minute and twenty-eight second song is the subtle intensity. At first listen, this comes off as a super upbeat and slightly rushed skate punk song in the vein of old-school Side One Dummy and Epitaph bands but, by the end of the song, you realize that there has been a subtle build of intensity and tension throughout this song and the way it all comes together at the end if pure genius. Maybe you won’t get that whole vibe but that’s okay. Even if you don’t catch onto that subtle build that had me falling in love, there’s no way you won’t fall head over heels for the sheer fun and catchiness that is “Yee-Haw” from messier.
