Girl at the Rock Shows

There is a pickle on the cover of “Get It Right” from Wilde Owl. I mean, do I even need to write a review on this song? Doesn’t the fact that the album art features a pickle say everything that needs to be said about the perfection of this track and band in general? Okay, maybe not for you so, feel free to continue reading but, really, this cover should be all you need.

I feel like I’m being drawn to pop-punk perfection today and “Get It Right” from Wilde Owl is a perfect example of that. There’s a clear nod to bands of years gone by like Blink 182 and Taking Back Sunday but Wilde Owl has a fresh take on the sound. They lean a bit heavier into the punk side rather than the pop side of this genre with the amount of energy and angst that they pack into each beat. At the same time, there’s no way that this song won’t make you smile and fill you with joy. It’s a fast-paced track full of predictable gang vocals and guitar licks but it’s still an absolutely flawless song that is more than worthy of your attention right now.
