Sometimes all it takes is that “Smallest Slightest Push” to get you to do something you should have done a long time ago. It can be a positive thing or, on the other side, sometimes it’s just the “Smallest Slightest Push” that pushes you over the edge. Even though those are two completely differing thoughts and feelings, this song from Nothing Gold Can Stay will hit you on either side of that coin.
The fourth and final single from Nothing Gold Can Stay before dropping their full album in July, “Smallest Slightest Push” is truly pop-punk perfection. This song has that perfect balance of poppy bounciness and angsty emotion creating a track that is equal parts infectious and heart-felt. Although this song is quickly paced and definitely presented with a bow of perfection, there’s something almost chill and laidback about the feeling of this song that I just can’t quite put my finger on. I like that I can’t quite pinpoint where that laidback feeling is coming from because it means I’m going to be spending a lot more time with this amazing band trying to figure it out in anticipation for their full album.
