Girl at the Rock Shows

Whoa! How is it already almost the 4th of July? I’m not sure where time is going but I’m stoked to be skipping out of town for a couple of days to spend time at a family reunion. Although I’ll miss going to shows nightly, my body and mind could absolutely use a re-set so I’m going to take advantage of it. Before I leave though, I need to find some amazing songs to help soundtrack my travels so let’s dig into some new music starting with “Hammered” from 7th Grade Truants to see if it could be part of that soundtrack.

Although “Hammered” is written to be geared towards college kids, this is such a fun song and was far too catchy for me to not share with you. 7th Grade Truants have a super gritty and almost fuzzy punk sound that comes through loud and clear in this song but there’s also something ridiculously infectious about their style. “Hammered” is the type of song that will make you smile and bounce at the same time while also making you think back to the time you spent in school. I’ll be honest, I didn’t catch on much depth in this song but, with such a sense of boppiness behind this this song, you just don’t need that depth to really fall for this song.
