Honestly, it was the combination of band names that had me hooked here. I just feel like the name Spike Polite on it’s own is already pretty catchy. Add Sewage to that and, well, I was intrigued and I could not wait to hit play on their single “Florida”.
The raw and dirty punk vibe that took over my space was not a surprise. “Florida” is three and a half minutes of pure bliss if you live in a world where The Casualties still reign supreme and where the faster things are, the better. Although there is definitely grit and a clear DIY spirit to this fast-moving song, there’s also a sense of perfection to it. Sure, there’s a lot going on but you can clearly hear every part throughout this song which is just genius. I wish I had more to say about this track but it moves so stinking fast and I really just wanted to enjoy every second of it so, instead of trying to figure out what more to say, I will just say that, for you punk fans that feel that hasn’t been any good punk music lately, check out “Florida” from Spike Polite & Sewage.
