Although I’m getting lots done and have a lot of time to do it as my day job is super slow due to the holiday, I’m struggling to concentrate. I think it’s the thought of the amazing long weekend I’m about to have with very few responsibilities and a lot of amazing food. My head just isn’t in the game which is honestly to be expected of a holiday week but I feel like I’m missing out on some sacred time to get caught up on everything else. I need a song that blasts me back into work mood, makes me put my head down and just power through. I need “Whisper, Ø Fire” from Irrenoid.
One of the craziest things to me about this song is that it’s from a full-length concept album called ‘V’ which has been in the works for over four years. Although this is only a snippet of that concept album, you get a full story through the intensity that is in every second of this nearly three-minute long song. Irrenoid has a sense of brutality and intensity that radiates throughout this track. It’s aggressive and, quite frankly, angry, yet I found it super cathartic to listen to. The emotion that Irrenoid is able to put into the desperation of every word throughout this song is truly stunning. Obviously, if heavy music isn’t for you, “Whisper, Ø Fire” may not be your jam but, even if that’s the case, I highly suggest you take a quick listen and the amount of power that music can hit you with because this is a prime example of a song that is felt, not just heard.
