Nobody likes the dentist. I don’t typically mind it but I just got done with a routine cleaning and walked out with more issues than I knew of when I walked in. Don’t worry, no cavities or anything like that but one filling that needs to be replaced, and a stern warning from my dentist that they just don’t like my gums. I’m already feeling anxious about having to go back in in a couple of weeks for that filling but I’m not going to let is consume my day. Instead, I’m going to dive head first into some work and some new music including “Mr Right” from Our Nameless Boy.
I love the peaceful calm that this song starts off with and how it lingers in the air just a bit longer than you would expect before you feel the full force of Our Nameless Boy’s signature strength. Although the song definitely ramps up, Our Nameless Boy continues on with this song in a rollercoaster kind of way with some of the most intense and dramatic mood swings I’ve gotten from a song in some time but it’s not just for the drama. This song tells a story. I’m not going to give up the story but I will say that it’s one that we can all relate too a bit too much and one that follows the ups and downs of the track so perfectly. I love how, even during the highs, this band refrains from going too chaotic or too aggressive yet presents a sense of frenetic energy in a way that will make you feel it, not just hear it. Long story short, “Mr Right” is the right song for you right now. Just trust me on that.
