Today seems to be one of those days where I can’t help but revert back to what I used to listen to high school. It’s been nothing but Mest, Allister, and Home Grown. Clearly, a pop-punk rabbit hole but I’m already getting bored with it. I need something fresh to listen to but something that gives me the same sense of energy that these old-school pop punk jams do. Thankfully for me, I have “Let’s Go” from At The Shore.
“Let’s Go” definitely has a nostalgic pop-punk base to it but At The Shore brings a modern twist to it. I love Jessi’s voice. Jessi is the singer/ bassist of this Stuttgart-based group and has a super crisp and clear voice. It’s high and doesn’t quite have the angst that I tend to look for but I love how it drives this nearly three-minute song forward. Add the brilliant and heavy-hitting (but not aggressive) instrumentation from guitarist Bonzo and drummer Sebbi, and this band quickly becomes an unforgettable one with catchy choruses that will surely get stuck in your head. You can latch onto the old-school pop-punk elements scattered throughout this track or you can get hooked by the more modern twist. Either way, At The Shore will have you stuck in the palm of their hand by the end of this track.
