Girl at the Rock Shows

I love my day job. I really do, but it’s been testing me the past few days. I’m busier than ever, which is good, but not when I try to do my four other jobs while here (with my boss’s permission, of course). It’s stressing me out that I don’t have enough time to share all of the singles I want to and to book all of the shows that I want to, but I am so thankful to have a steady job that allows me to do my own thing when there’s time. That being said, this Desk Job. is starting to feel a bit like a “Catastrophe” (see what I did there?).

The first thing that really struck me about this song from NYC-based Desk Job. is the way the song comes off as brutally powerful but isn’t aggressive. A song about how hard it can be to break a bad habit or change your negative way of thinking into something positive, this song instantly spoke to my soul. Sure, I’m stressed to the brim, but it’s good to be busy, and, at the end of the day, it’s job security. That’s what this song made me feel; it couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I needed a little dose of boppy yet strong positivity and that’s exactly what is at the forefront when it comes to “Catastrophe” from Desk Job. Add the infectiously catchy chorus and the hooky guitar parts scattered throughout this song, and you are left with the perfect song for your Tuesday morning.
