Girl at the Rock Shows

It’s Tuesday, and I’m the only one who showed up to work. Okay, that sounds harsh, but there are only three of us in my position at my day job, and one of them is out today, meaning my workload is already overwhelming for the day, and I’m stressed about how I’m going to get everything done when the emails don’t stop. I won’t let it get the best of me, though, and, unlike yesterday, I won’t let it stop me from sharing new music with you.

“Deep In My Skin” is the first song from It’s Always You’s new EP. This band has an aggressive sound but with emo and pop-punk tendencies making this song a stand out track for anyone who, like me, is already having a day. The tenderness that comes from the more emo leaning tendencies of this track are as loud and clear as the heavy hitting drums. The vocals have a very Senses Fail quality to them which, naturally, hooked me instantly. It’s not just in the tone, but also in the poignant lyricism that reigns supreme throughout this song. Whether you’re looking for that kick in the butt to get you going today or a shoulder to lean on as you try and get through the day, It’s Always You has your back.
