I can already feel the day slipping away and I’m frustrated with that. I feel like I’m getting a lot done and, other than a few hiccups at the day job, like I’m keeping it cool, calm, and collected but, on the inside, all I want to do is yell, “HOW DARE [you]!” to the clock which leads me into my second pick of the day– “HOW DARE” from Caleb L’Etoile.

The first thing that really caught me with this song is the ebb and flow of it all. You can hear a sense of growth right off the bat as you get hit by a wall of majestic and lush tones after a small build-up at the beginning. This continues throughout the song but often gives way to moments of pure and slight ambient bliss before ramping back up into Caleb L’Etoile’s gorgeous world. The fourth release for Caleb’s album ‘I Dreamt I Lay Her Body in the Ground’, “HOW DARE” traverses into worlds unknown. By the end of this epic four-minute and seventeen-second song, you will realize that you have dabbled in everything from electronic to indie rock to post-punk. It’s truly an epic piece of work that just needs to be heard so go ahead and take the break we all know you deserve so you can check out “HOW DARE” from Caleb L’Etoile but buckle up– this journey gets heavy and slightly dark at times.
