Yesterday didn’t go as planned. I got beyond busy at work and just couldn’t find the time to share out as many singles as I wanted to. Maybe I jinxed it by starting the day off by saying I wasn’t going to let work get in the way of me checking out new music so, instead of saying that again today, I’ll just say that I’m excited to kick today off with a banger of a track in the form of “Take Me Down” from Logan Garrett and Madeline Edwards.
The combination of Logan Garrett and Madeline Edwards is a bit of a weird one on paper. Madeline Edwards is chart topping country vocalist and Logan Garrett is a country, hip-hop, and electronic music producer and DJ but they come together in perfect harmony when it comes to “Take Me Down.” This song definitely leans a bit more commercial than I tend to go for but the swagger and emotion that is packed into this three and a half minute song was more than enough to hook me. This song captures the feeling of fighting for what you want so perfectly and, for the week I’ve been having, it hit the spot. I love that this song could fit into a dance night or just a late-night drive where you’re trying to clear your head.
