Girl at the Rock Shows

Everything about this band name and song title is depressing. I mean, come on. The song title is obvious but isn’t there something slightly dark about the band name “Fun While It Lasted”? Or is that just me? Regardless, I was getting all of the darkness vibes radiating from these words and combination of words but, as soon as I hit play on this song, I realized it’s really not that dark.

Fun While It Lasted is clearly a pop-punk band through and through and you hear that loud and clear when it comes to this quick two and a half minute bop. The beat is infectious and the vocal style is classic pop-punk but there’s an extra edge in this track. Maybe it’s the speed of the beat or maybe it’s that extra grit that comes and goes in the vocals, regardless, instead of casting a dark shadow over my day as I was waiting for based on the song title and band name, “Double Broken Heart (V2)” filled me with a sense of energy and sunshine so perfectly.
