Happy Friday, everyone! Although Fridays have lost almost all meaning to me as I work through my weekends because I’m a workaholic, there’s still something a bit free-feeling when it comes to Friday and it has me feeling good and determined to take on the world. Part of that world includes sharing new music with you so let’s jump right into it with “Cult Potential” from Cult Potential.
“Cult Potential” is a punk anthem that will grab you by the heart instantly. It’s a no frills kind of punk and alt-rock leaning sound about the the upstart of this Atlanta, Georgia band. I love how this track feels so fresh but, at it’s core, is a super traditional throwback to the punk pioneers of years gone by. There’s this specific kind of grit that comes with this song that gives it a “classic” vibe but, overall, there’s nothing to make this feel dated or even like a recycled sound. Cult Potential clearly has a sound that they have been working on curating for some time and they nailed it. I can’t wait to see what else comes out of this band!
