I love a quirky band name. It’s always enough to catch my attention but I need more than just a clever name to steal my heart. Thankfully, Jerk Beefy has both a clever name and an amazing sound when it comes to their single “Curaçao Blue.”
“Curaçao Blue” feels like summer and, for it being such a sunny day out here in Minneapolis, it felt just perfect to kick today off with this song. It’s a high-energy song that dabbles between ska-punk and pop-punk. It comes complete with catchy hooks and soaring verses that will surely bring you a sense of peace while also amping you up to conquer the day. Belgium-based Jerk Beefy has been around since 2018. I’m not sure how such a fun and amazing band has stayed under my radar for so long but, after listening to “Curaçao Blue” no less than a dozen times this morning, I’m ready to spend the rest of my day digging into some of their other material.
