I need feel-good music today. I need the type of music that takes me away from my desk and helps me ignore the feeling of drowning that I am dealing with right now and “Weirdo” from Them Damn Dogs is doing just the trick.
“Weirdo” is Them Damn Dogs’ first single in over four years and, knowing that, has me wondering if this group has just been spending the past couple of years honing in on their sound because, truthfully, this single is perfect. Stylistically, this song is a bit hard to classify as it goes through many movements. I guess, most easily put, this is a pop-punk jam but there are these cool intricacies woven throughout the song that bring a grunge sound forward at times and a more indie-rock style at others. All of these elements and “movements” come together to create nearly four minutes of a blissful journey that will surely take you away from the stress of another insane workday. Don’t let today get the best of you. Spend some time listening to “Weirdo” from Them Damn Dogs and just breathe it all in. I promise it will get your day started off on the right foot.
