What do “Karate, Guns & Tanning” have to do with each other? Honestly, I have no clue. They have even less to do with my personal life as I enjoy none of those things. That being said, I instantly got hooked by this song and the smoothness that it brought to my otherwise manic Monday morning.
The lead single from Karate, Guns & Tanning’s upcoming album ‘Krisis Genre’, “Glassy” instantly took me away from the stress of my Monday morning. The beginning of the track is a bit ambient but it grows by adding layers upon layers of lush sounds and beautiful soundscapes until, eventually, you hear this band’s sound bloom completely. It’s a trippy and almost psychedelic sound but don’t mistake that and my mention of a more ambient vibe to lead you to believe that this is a snoozefest of a song. Somehow, although overall super calm and chill, “Glassy” will make you feel every single beat and note with a sense of heaviness that makes it impossible to ignore. Although this song had me finding a sense of peace and calm, it also seemed to light a fire in my soul that I will definitely be feeding off of for the rest of the day.
