The day is just trucking along. I’m getting a lot done and am quickly coming to terms with the fact that not everything is going to get done before I leave town tomorrow. Heck, not everything is going to get done ever. I live a life and work so much that there is no such thing as being wholly caught up and, truthfully, I kind of like it like that. Instead of stressing out about it, I want to continue on my journey of filling out the best playlist for my flight tomorrow by checking out new music.
“Honesty vs. Modesty” from Me, Grimlock! will not only be on my playlists for my flight tomorrow, but this song instantly found a spot on my daily playlist in general. This skate punk feeling anthem is fast and furious but it’s also so fun. Although there’s something intense and almost intimidating about how fast the beat is throughout this four minute song, there’s definitely that glitter of pop-punk nostalgia that highlights nearly every beat that passes. I love how, although definitely a pop-punk and skate punk anthem, there are elements of a little bit of everything from metal to hardcore hidden throughout this song. Although it’s four minutes long, things move fast when it comes to “Honesty vs. Modesty” so don’t feel bad if you have to listen to this track a few times through to really catch it all.
