I’m not sure why but today feels like another Monday. It hasn’t been a bad morning but just one of those mornings where I just can’t get caught up and every email seems to cause a new headache. I’m trying to keep it in my head that it’s a short week so I’ll get through it but, with every passing moment, I’m clenching my teeth a bit more and just know that, by the end of the day, I will be exhausted and spent but still have loads of work to do. This means it’s time for a little break, a reset for my mind and soul. This first break of the day is brought to you by “Agent Orange” by Gramercy.
“Agent Orange” is just about two minutes long, so it’s quick, but don’t let that fool you. This punchy punk song packs a punch. Gramercy showcases a very Every Time I Die style in this song with the way they seem to be constantly edging on the brink of chaos but never quite make it over that hill. Although an intense song, this band somehow stays in constant control of everything happening in “Agent Orange” giving it a sense of urgency, panic, but also smooth intensity. This is an angry song, and these days, we all have a lot to be angry at. It’s a song, as the band puts it, “for everyone who feels helpless as they watch the world crumble around them”. If that doesn’t describe you, then you aren’t paying attention, but hopefully, checking out this song will help open your eyes. If you are paying attention, this band reminds you through this song to “keep your head up, speak out, keep fighting.”
