Ryan Cassata – “a Knack for Overthinking”

Overthinking is one of my favorite hobbies and Ryan Cassata is one of my new favorite finds as of late so it seems absolutely perfect that these two things come together in this new track from Ryan.

“a Knack for Overthinking’ is the focus track for Ryan’s new album, ‘Greetings from Echo Park’ which is out now on Kill Rock Stars. It truly captures the emotion and stress that comes with living stuck in a haze of anxiety, yet somehow brings an infectious energy to the overwhelming feeling. This song is raw, which is one of the things I absolutely adore about Ryan, but at the same time, it’s a perfectly polished pop-punk-style song. As if this song isn’t amazing and relatable enough, Ryan has a video accompanying it. I’m not going to give it all away but it is one of the cutest and most honest videos I have seen a hot minute. You can feel the self-acceptance and awareness, as well as everything else, exude from this video in waves that hit your body and soul in a truly stunning way. It adds a personal touch to an already intimate song. Long story short, if you need a bop, Ryan Cassata offers that in “a Knack for Overthinking.” If you need an outlet for some pent-up energy, you can get that from this song as well.
