I need something epic. Something more epic than the constant sneezes that are plaguing me today and “Parasite” from This Disaster seems to be that perfect slice of epicness.

This Disaster doesn’t waste any time introducing their unique and perfect wall of sound. “Paraside” starts with an almost electronic sounding drum pattern before you get hit by the power of this band. Bridging the gap between nostalgic emo tones and something a bit more abrasive and fresh, This Disaster’s sound had me thinking of bands like Silverstein and I Set My Friends on Fire, while also evoking comparisons to Bring Me the Horizon and Beartooth. Although I can think of a million bands to relate this song to, at the end of the track, it’s clear that this song can only honestly and most accurately be described as This Disaster. It’s powerful and tows the line between beauty and power perfectly. Add in a dramatic break towards the end of this track that leads to a super triumphant ending, and you are left with pure gold.
