Girl at the Rock Shows

If you’re doing anything outside today, you probably your chapstick that’s in your pocket or bag is surely melted. It’s a scorcher out there and I am just so thankful that I have power and working A/C after a storm knocked my power out for a couple of hours last night. None of this has anything to do with The Melted Chapstixs’ new song, “Hexes For My Exes,” outside of the clever band name, but don’t let this random intro stop you from checking out this song.

As one may suspect, “Hexes For My Exes” is a breakup song where the members of The Melted Chapstixs hex their exes. It’s a sarcastic and tongue-in-cheek kind of song with a rough-around-the-edges kind of recording, but there’s something about this song that instantly had me hooked. Maybe The Melted Chapstixs had put a hex over me, but, really, there’s just something about the tension during the chorus that sang to my heart so perfectly. Add in the energy that the band puts into this track and just the overall infectious energy, and you are left with a song that, although far from perfect, will surely hook you and have you standing on top of your chair waving a pen around as you hex all of your exes… no? That’s just me? Whatever. Just sit back and enjoy!
