Girl at the Rock Shows

I don’t want to be at work today. It’s not a bad day or anything like that. I just don’t want to be here and have already started plotting a dramatic escape with my warehouse manager. Although that escape, that includes just walking out and leaving all of our lights and computers on like nothing happened, probably won’t happen, it’s fun to think about. That being said, I have a lot of work to do and need to get my head in the game, so let’s start today off right by checking out “Faster Than the Night,” a new song from MESSMAKER.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, MESSMAKER has a super fresh take on a classic pop-punk leaning pop-rock sound. This song is bright and super fun, but there’s also depth here. There’s a slight sense of urgency throughout this two-and-a-half-minute song that makes it fly by faster than I would have liked, but at the same time, there’s a playfulness to the overall track. It’s the kind of song that you want to play when driving home late at night but with zero motivation to actually get home. Maybe I’m just saying that because the single artwork features a car and the words “Faster Than the Night” circle throughout the song, but really, it’s just one of those high-energy kind of songs that gets your blood pumping and is so easy to lead your mind into a beautiful daydream.
