I am constantly trying to grow as a human. It’s easier said than done, but I don’t have to tell you that. Every once in a while, I need a little nudge or just a reminder that I have already come so far, so there’s no sense in stopping now. I feel like that’s what I really took away from “Feedback” from Olesky- it gave me a moment of reflection, but also lit a fire under my ass at the same time, making it perfect for a slow-moving Monday.
Per their bio, Olesky is a band that claims to “create music for the simple joy of making it.” Honestly, I feel like a lot of bands try to say that, but then you can’t feel it in their tracks. You can absolutely feel it in “Feedback.” Stylistically, this song blends alt-rock tones with a punk-rock spirit and an almost indie rock feeling of accessibility. I really love how you can pick up on what you want in this song. If you want to be angsty as you look back at the progress you have made as far as being a better person and look forward to future opportunities to continue that growth, you can. If you prefer to just have an anthemic and infectious song take over your life for a couple of minutes to give you a break from the grind of the day, “Feedback” can fit that. If you just want something that’s easy to listen to and gives you a little boost of energy, Olesky nails that on this track too. Long story short, “Feedback” is as versatile as Olesky is as a band.
