I got nothing for you right now. Honestly, it’s just another morning where the amount of work I have to do today is going to outnumber the amount of hours I have, but I’m not going to let it get to me. Instead, I’m going to take my time today and spend some time doing what I enjoy – checking out new music – starting with “Child Of Fortune” from The Heir Apparition.
The first thing that this song made me think of is Coheed & Cambria, which is odd because, truthfully, I’ve always put Coheed out there on their own planet. Although that’s the vibe I get from this song, it’s not a carbon copy of it. The Heir Apparition has a sound that is all its own. It leans in and out of a proggy rock world with subtle notes of metal and even pop-punk woven into it. Much like Coheed & Cambria, the music of The Heir Apparition tells a story, and “Child Of Fortune” is clearly just one part of a truly epic tale. It has me intrigued and anxious to see where the story goes. That answer will come when the band releases their upcoming album ‘PART I: BROKEN CROWNS (MEMENTO MORI EDITION)’.
