Girl at the Rock Shows

I know we are still a few days away from Friday, but that doesn’t mean we can’t check out a song from Friday Project, right? Right! Honestly, although it’s only Wednesday, Friday Project is hitting the spot right now, especially with their new single “PICK ME UP (WHEN I FALL)”.

Right off the bat with this song, I was hooked by the grit and the glamour behind it. The grit comes in the recording quality. That’s not to say that this isn’t brilliantly recorded, because it is, but there’s this slight glitter of grit that sounds a bit as if I was listening to this song right off of my turntable. That mixed with the flawless pop-punk leaning alt-rock-based sound creates such a world that is so easy to get lost in. There are no frills when it comes to this song, and, honestly, it comes off as almost simple, but there’s something catchy about this track. Maybe it’s the raw lyrics, maybe it’s the heart that clearly comes with every passing note and beat, regardless, Friday Project has my attention and I can’t wait to hear more songs like “PICK ME UP (WHEN I FALL)” from them.
