Girl at the Rock Shows

I keep getting distracted today. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I’m starting to get frustrated by it. I’m getting a lot done, but I feel like it’s taking me longer than usual as I keep getting sidetracked by other tasks. Maybe all I need is a short break from work to help me reset, so let’s go ahead and break to check out “Fare The Well” from Arcade Allstars.

The second single off Arcade Allstars’ upcoming full-length album, “Fare The Well,” instantly brought a smile to my face and a boogie to my hips. Okay, that’s a slight lie as I’m confined to my desk chair right now, but I will say that, as soon as this song started, I started tapping my toe and nodding my head to the infectious beat without really realizing it. Arcade Allstars have a classic, no-frills kind of ska sound, but it’s a fresh one. It feels a little bit like Catch 22, but with more of a Planet Smashers vocal style than the punk edge that comes with Catch 22. Whether the horns bring an instant smile to your face, the beat makes your toes start tapping, or you get lost in the depth of the lyrics that revolve around the fall of interpersonal relationships, there’s something in “Fare The Well” for everyone to enjoy.
