I am absolutely the queen of getting distracted so it seems only fitting that, during a busy morning at work, I get distracted by a song called “I Get Distracted” from Midwest Royal.
“I Get Distracted” is so much more than a distraction; it’s a boot-stomping, swagger-filled anthem for restless souls. Stylistically, this is completely out of left field compared to what I typically share, but it’s so catchy that I just couldn’t help myself. It’s a folk-rock song with a slight punk edge to is and no shortage of heart. The lyrics throughout this song are pretty tongue-in-cheek and tell the story of, well, getting distracted. I like how it’s slightly playful, but there’s nothing funny about the talent that can be heard throughout this three-minute track. Midwest Royal has a sound. Nay, it’s more than a sound, it’s an attitude, and I love how you can feel it throughout this entire track, and it leaves you feeling just a little bit more cheerful than before you heard this song.
