Girl at the Rock Shows

I love it when a song can be both angsty and catchy. It’s not that that’s super rare, but I feel like a lot of bands try to pull off this delicate balance and fall a bit short. The Outcasted Teens did not fall short on this goal when it comes to their new song “The Death of Anarchy.

The Outcasted Teens has been around for more than three decades at this point, and I love how you can feel that in the tightness of this track, but how you can also clearly hear that this band is still having fun with what they’re doing. As mentioned, their new song “The Death of Anarchy” has a perfect blend of angst, aggression, and catchiness. I love that there is definitely an edge to this track, but it will get stuck in your head like any great pop song. Add in a fast hardcore-style drum beat and vocals that lean in and out of an almost 90s alt-rock style, and you are left with an energized song that is perfect for the sleepiest of mornings. The cherry on top? The words of this track. “The Death Of Anarchy” is a bit of a snark response to the hypocrisy and gatekeeping that happens in the punk world, and I, for one, felt that it just added to the magic and perfection of this song because, like The Outcasted Teens’ sound, the words of this song are as raw as they are real and perfect.
