Girl at the Rock Shows

Today is not a bad day at all. The day job is pretty quiet, which is giving me a lot of time to work on everything else, but something about extremely heavy music is hitting super good today. Typically, I really only get into this music when I’m feeling angsty and frustrated, and although that’s not the case, I’m going to run with this and continue sharing out some intense and brutal music to you like “Souled Slave” from BURDEN CALLED GOD.

A collaboration with Kevin Paradis (ex-BENIGHTED), Riccardo Benedini (ex HIDIOUS DIVINITY), and Rich Gray (ANNIHILATOR), “Souled Slave” is a perfect example of how a song can be extremely heavy but still be crystal clear. This song is just over four minutes of relentless power and controlled chaos. I definitely love the heavy nature of this song and the almost primal feel of the vocals, but what really got me hooked here is the way that you can hear everything happening in this track. BURDEN CALLED GOD has such an organized sound, and they are clearly masters of their craft, which means you can hear every single note crystal clear throughout this song. Even the vocals, with an intense and sinister feeling, come through crystal clear. It’s rare to find a band this heavy that you can actually understand, but that’s what you get with BURDEN CALLED GOD, making them a standout in an already explosive scene.
