It’s already 9 in the morning, and I have yet to clear out one of my eight inboxes. That’s not a good start to my morning. Normally, by now, I’m almost done with catching up on emails and moving on to the work portion of my day. I don’t know what this means for my day. Will it be a super manic kind of Thursday? Or will I be able to keep my head above water? Honestly, I don’t care because I have “Forever” from Namira to help keep me going today.
“Forever” is the debut single from Korean-American artist Namira (Alice Nam), and it’s just what my heart and soul needed this morning. This song is bouncy. It has a very EDM feeling, instrumentation, and beat, but the vocals feel like those of a pop star. The way that Namira blends these two contrasting worlds together so seamlessly is the first thing that caught me, but as I listened to this song, I realized I was falling more and more into Namira’s world with every passing world. This song is so much more than just an infectious beat and beautiful voice; it’s a journey through a story that is nothing short of gorgeous. I love how there’s something almost delicate to the words, but, again, with that EDM-infected beat, this song comes off as a banger more than a sentimental ode. For an debut song, this track is nothing short of show-stopping and I think it’s safe to assume that we can all expect to hear a lot more from Namira in the near future.
