I know I missed the boat a wee bit on this one as Christmas was last week, but come on, it’s a song about cats, there’s never a bad time to check out “Cats in Christmas Sweaters” from Rockit Sheep.
Although there’s definitely something slightly cheesy about this song, which is about exactly what you think it would be, there’s also something infectiously flawless about it. It’s a pop-punk banger all about dressing your cats up for the holiday, even though maybe your cats don’t enjoy it as much as you do. This is a fun and family-friendly song. It’s the kind of track that you can put on for your kids, and it won’t drive you absolutely insane; instead, it may leave you dancing around your house and thinking up new outfits to try your cat in for next year’s holiday. Sonically, this song was giving me all of the Relient K vibes but with a chorus that hits just a bit harder than some of those light-hearted Relient K songs. Whether you’re like me and just love a good bop about cats or are a pop-punk parent trying not to go insane by way of child-friendly songs, “Cats in Christmas Sweaters” is the song for you. Not a cat person? Have no fear, I hear that Rockit Sheep also has a song in the works for all of you dog lovers out there.
