I can’t say that I’m stoked about the first full work week of the year but will be nice to get back into the swing of things and I am stoked for all of the potential time I should have to check out new music. Let’s get this first full week started off right with “Hold Out” from Victory Point.
I feel like this is the perfect post-holiday anthem as it’s about realizing that no matter how many miles separate you and your friends or family, chances are you are going through some of the same tough times so you should really make checking in on your people a habit. This is a habit I’m trying to adopt in the new year but I’m already realizing just how hard it is. You want to check in your people but, at the same time, you want to make sure you’re okay first. The chill and calming nature of this song helps soothe that stress and anxiety. Although the song is clearly full of heart and emotion, there’s something about it that just really helps bring you down a peg and slow down. It helps you realize that no matter how busy work gets or how stressed out you get, you need to take some time for yourself and those around you. Again, the perfect message to get this year started off with.
