“Bostadslös” is the Swedish word for homeless. Right off the bat, knowing that, this single from Swedish noiserock quartet HUVET has a sense of desperation. Before I even hit play, I knew that this song would be one that is full of angst, power, passion, and emotion and, no surprise, I was right.

There’s something severe about this song but, again, given the subject matter, this makes sense. “Bostadslös” is a song about the struggles of being homeless. Thankfully, I do not know the struggle but I also realize that we are all just one bad moment away from having to deal with homelessness. It’s a constant worry, a constant threat and, something about being here in Minneapolis during this time makes that threat feel even more daunting. I love the way that HUVET seems to capture so many emotions that come with that feeling throughout this song. It’s just under four minutes long and every single second of the track is dripping with an intense emotion that words just will never do justice. The song itself is gritty and raw as if just driving the point of the song home. Like I mentioned and assumed, “Bostadslös” is a powerful track so brace yourself but also enjoy the intensity that is HUVET.
