Honestly, I’m having a great day (or as great as things can get up here in the Twin Cities right now) but heavy and intense music is just hitting so good. Maybe that’s what giving me this great day. The angst and grit in the soundtrack of my day acting like a bit of an outlet for the pent up aggression and frustration in my soul. I don’t want to analyze it, I want to embrace it so now feel like a perfect time to check out “At The Exit” from Defiant.
Although not as sinister as some of what has been soundtracking my Tuesday morning, “At The Exit” is full of energy, angst, and grit. The instrumentation has this almost thrash-metal kind of vibe to it while the vocals keep this song in the punk realm of things. I really like how Defiant has blended these two worlds together to create a sound that is as distinct as it is perfect. The grit behind the shouted vocals of this song is just the icing on the cake to the intensity and perfection of it all. “At The Exit” is the first single off of Defiant’s upcoming EP so, if you like what you hear here, make sure to follow this Central Pennsylvania based band so you don’t miss that impending release!
