Girl at the Rock Shows

I still have nothing for you right now. The day is going fine. I’m working away, enjoying some lunch, and just counting down the hours until I can be at a show tonight. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been at a show. It feels weird but, honestly, I needed a break. I was burnt out from everything and appreciate that I was able to take some time off but I’m ready to get back into it. There’s still a few hours before my show so let’s try and fill this time with some new music to help me going and get me back into the swing of things.

“Anaconda Walkway” is the debut single from Deleter — or so they say. I have such a hard time believing that this is a debut single because it’s so perfect. I’ve gotten super into post-punk sounds lately so this is hitting the spot. The vocals feel a bit abstract and the instrumentation a bit noise-adjacent. These two elements come together to create this sound that is equal parts quirky, intense, and perfect. This song really has it all. It has drama and darkness but also has an infectious and boisterous energy about it. If this is just the first song from Deleter, I truly can’t wait to see what comes next for this Manchester-based band.
