As my friends may tell you, I am a creature of habit. Sure, going to shows nearly every night mixes things up a bit but, honestly, I stand in the same spots at my venues, I typically get the same drink from the same bar or order the same food depending on where I am. I even park in the same parking spot nearly every night. Like I said– a creature of habit. Some would say that, when it comes to change, “I Don’t Handle [it] Very Well” which is what came to mind the second this new song from Torgny Amdam came across my desk.

“I Don’t Handle This Very Well” isn’t just a song done by Torgny Amdam and featuring Marie Due, it’s a heartfelt track with a beautiful video attached to it that will instantly take you to a different place, a different time. The video seems to depict a costume party of sorts. Simple enough but there’s something so beautiful about it. It’s clearly a party from back in the day when life was simpler. It depicts people just dancing around and having a grand old time before the images shift to a hardcore looking show full of stage divers and intensity. The video continues shifting between different scenes and moments of life as the music stays a constant. Stylistically, “I Don’t Handle This Very Well” is definitely an electronic pop song but there’s thought behind it. There’s somehow a sense of emotion attached to the computerized feeling beat that I just could not figure out but also could not get enough of.

“I Don’t Handle This Very Well” is off of Torgny Amdam’s new album ‘Air Mail’ which is out now on Telemachus Records.
