Thankfully, I’m not as crabby as I was yesterday. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not all sunshine and rainbows today. I’m feeling stressed and feeling anxious about damn near everything but at least I’m not crabby and at least I have some good music like “Long Con” from Allapartus to help me continue to shake this weird feeling.

“Long Con” isn’t just a song, it’s a call to action. It’s a song for those of us who feel like we are drowning in bad news and just want to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Long story short, it’s a perfect song for this day and age. Allaparus strikes a perfect balance between pop-punk and something just ever so slightly heavier in this song. From the anthemic vocals to the slamming drums, there’s energy throughout this three minute and twenty second song but there’s also an acknowledgement of emotion and feelings scattered throughout it. The more I hear from this NYC-based band, the more I fall in love. It seems like Allapartus are hard at work on some DIY east coast touring and new music so here’s to hoping they make their way to Minneapolis sooner rather than later because this is the kind of energy and message that this city needs right now.
