The Malignant Narcissists released “In Love With An Inanimate Object” at the beginning of this month. I was supposed to share this song out at the beginning of this month. Unfortunately, life kept on getting in the way. At least that’s what I told Ben with The Malignant Narcissists. The truth is, I was keeping this song to myself. It’s no lie that life keeps on getting in the way. It’s been an insane month but I easily could have shared this out earlier if I wasn’t hogging it. Why was I hogging it? Well, just listen to it!

This five minute and fifteen second track is nothing short of genius. It has a little bit of everything– a groove, a steady beat, passion, emotion, tenderness, angst, energy, tenderness– seriously, everything. Personally, I especially like the tenderness in this track and the respect of time shown throughout the song. Maybe it’s because I’m having a bit of a manic kind of day or maybe it’s just because I’m stressed to the max and doing my best to not let it get to me. Regardless, this song washed over me like a perfect shower of calming vibes and positive energy with the vocals acting like an emotional hug. I’ll be honest, I don’t even know that I have really taken in the lyrics or message of this song but that’s okay. I know they are deep as that’s a signature of this band but sometimes it’s okay to just like the tone and the overall energy of a song. That’s what happens here and, although I’ve been saving this for myself, it’s time that you all enjoy the magic that is “In Love With An Inanimate Object” from The Malignant Narcissists.
