Do you ever let time get the best of you? Okay, that’s weird phrasing. I mean do you ever get a bit obsessed with time and, in turn, waste it? For example, I still have three hours left at my day job but, in my mind, I’m only down to three hours rather than having three hours. My mind starts racing when this happens and I get a bit manic as I realize that I will never get everything done that I need to get done so, inevitably, I will just give up. I know that three hours is more than enough time to continue to get crap done but this is just how my brain works and it’s oh so very frustrating. This has nothing to do with “Touch Grass” from Sorry Sweetheart.

Actually, maybe this song has more to do with my current thought than it may appear. “Touch Grass” is a boisterous, horn-filled anthem about overcoming depressing and anxiety through community. I don’t know for sure but I’m sure my weird relationship with time has something to do with my insane anxiety. Maybe I’m wrong. All I know is that the energy of this song helped me get out of my own head. At the base of this song, it’s a pop-punk anthem with clear nods to the forefathers of the genre but, when you add in Sorry Sweetheart’s signature ska vibe and horn line, you get something so much more than just another nostalgic song. “Touch Grass” will not only bring a smile to your face, but it will make you feel seen in a way that you will surely appreciate.
