Much like “wrong” from pinkpool didn’t come with a lot of background or quirky story, I have nothing for you right now. It’s been one of those head down, power through work kind of morning and I’m honestly feeling great. Although work has been non-stop since I woke up, I feel like I’m staying level which, for me, is something worthy of a reward. So, to reward myself, I’m taking another break to check out “wrong” from pinkpool.
As mentioned, this song came with very little. Scratch that, it came with nothing. No information on the band or the song yet as soon as I hit play on this track, I felt like I have known this band for my entire life and this song was an old and timeless favorite of mine. The three minute song starts off super quiet and sparse but, after about ten seconds, you get hit with the staggering power and emotion that is pinkpool. After an explosive opening, pinkpool falls into this pop-punk kind of infectious energy mixed with a sense of darkness that comes through in the vocals. Moments of sheer angst and chaos are sprinkled throughout this song giving it this dramatic feeling of dynamics and very rollercoaster ride kind of listen. From moments where horns lead the charge to slightly breakdown feeling moments where you get this undeniable sense of catharsis, “wrong” from pinkpool is a song that has to be heard, not just read about so what are you waiting for?
