What were you doing when you were 12 years old? I honestly don’t remember but I can tell you, with certainty, that I was not debuting my first ever original single. Morgan Emslie is has done just that. At the ripe age of 12 (you know, when things were just a bit better and way calmer), Morgan Emslie has released her debut song “In The Clear” and, although it’s definitely a feat to release a song at such a young age, that’s not the only thing amazing about this song.

This song is defiant and triumphant. Sure, it has a slight juvenile vibe to it but, come on, Morgan is 12, what do you want from her. Additionally, the message of this song has no age limits. It’s about standing up for yourself and saying enough is enough when enough is, in fact, enough. Look, I’m not going to try and tell you that this song sounds like it was done by a rockstar that has been doing this for decades. There’s definitely a youthful vibe and that aforementioned juvenile feeling but, again, at 12, what do you want from Morgan? Even with that, the power speaks volumes here and it’s clear to say that, although “In The Clear” is the first single from this young rockstar, it surely won’t be the last. There’s talent, there’s thought, there’s grit but, more importantly, there’s heart and that is going to take Morgan so freaking far and I just can not wait to see it happen.
