Girl at the Rock Shows

I ended up having last night off. I could have used the night off to my advantage and gotten a lot of stuff around the house done but I didn’t. Instead, I laid on the couch and got caught up on a few of my guilty pleasure TV shows. It was truly lovely and, as weird as it was, I was asleep by 11. This means I’m feeling rested this morning. I’m sure it won’t last and that the monotony of my day job will have me crashing in no time but, for now, I’m feeling good and ready to “Have A Nice Day” so this new single from Ghost In The Willow feels like the perfect way to kick off my Wednesday.

“Have A Nice Day” is a single from Ghost In The Willow’s brand new album ‘Still Here.’ It’s equal parts eerie, powerful, and beautiful. Personally, my favorite part of this track is the vocals. They are like a hard whisper and feel almost forced at times but not in a bad way. More in a way that this band has something they want to get out and they definitely get it out with the power that comes through in this four and a half minute song. There’s a quiet defiance, a subtle triumph, that reigns supreme throughout this song about survival and endurance. It’s a track that seems to be about continuing on even when it feels like circumstances are constantly trying to shut it all down. In this day and age, it’s this feeling and sense of resilience that we all need and I love the fact that it’s laid out so beautifully by Ghost In The Willow.
