It’s hard to believe that it is already April but, here we are and there’s no going back. I’m not sure if I’m happy about that. I feel like this year is flying by but knowing that a new month means a crap ton of new music and songs is helping me stay positive and one of those new songs is from a person favorite of mine– dASHDOWN.
“She Goes By April” just came out on the first of the month but it is already a constant in my daily playlist. Recording with the help of Waiting For Henry by Joe Dell’Aquila at Exeter Recordings in Freehold, New Jersey, “She Goes By April” is a perfect spring summer. There’s a cold winter warmth to the overall tone of the vocals but, as a track, there’s this almost summer-like kind of grunge freedom. These two elements come together to create a vibe that will perk you up on the stormiest of spring days yet also calm you down on those days of false summer when it gets super warm and nice out for just a day before falling back into a chillier temperature and gloomier skyscape. On top of all of this, there’s the vocals. They are sweet and tender but have dASHDOWN’s signature brand of grit and energy. Long story short, I know that April may not be the most exciting month of the year but checking out this song will surely spice it up a bit.
